So about the different areas, which would be in data chunks throughout sections of the map, are those carried down during conversion? Lets say with the MultiConverter.

Yeah, ofc if you convert a chair, it'll be clean, but start with spells/stuff with particles and you'll end up with white/broken stuff pretty quickly

I am not sure, but I have a theory that one option is to just open up in Noggit Red and paint down the different areas, but if avoidance of that is possible then great, just need to find out which data chunk type those area definitions are stored in and then I'm on my way!

I assume the biggest problems come from porting data from a newer structure to an old one where it doesn't necessarily even exist in the old client, or incomplete/missing conversion where a conversion would be possible
