I believe some patch in wrath that was way ahead after 3.0.1.8622 implemented skin filetype

Well, we can port BC loginscreens to 3.3.5, so that shouldn't matter

It is normal if it's doesn't work. During TLK beta, m2 files did not yet have the same structure as those in the release. They don't have skin files, so you have to convert your M2
