The whole problem is that the client is riddled with similar exploits. You can't really fix it. You can mitigate and patch certain exploits, but without the source to recompile the binary it's not feasible to capture it all except disabling certain features entirely.

So at some point you just have to accept that a 20 something year old client is broken, and someone is going to exploit it sooner or later. Doesn't mean the information should be public, but it is, and it's going to be
