But we can still call it a bad feature

I'm attempting to pursuade and encourage those who can to use their powers to serve an underserved audience. I can't replace a codec or reverse engineer the game like Robin can, but I can do my best to articulate why taking an extra step to try implementing it might be highly valued (if not by all players, by a passionate minority).

It relies on taking into consideration the unique ways in which its implementation can be used to augment gameplay and pursuade the most desirable outcomes.
As Nix mentioned, medics in Battlebit Remastered are almost always more likely to res a player who is roleplaying the pain of their death. This is true also in Hell Let Loose. I have no reason to believe this wouldn't also naturally be the case in a battleground like AV.
However. In a dungeon you're not as likely going to roleplay a death because there's an expectation that the group will revive you anyways to continue the dungeon. The roleplay serves no purpose and so is therefore a less likely occurrence.
I'm simply suggesting that simply flipping on proximity voice will not enhance the user experience (as you all love to remind me) but that this doesn't mean it can't be designed around to enhance the experience.

Personally, if someone was dead and screaming for a medic, I'd probably just mute them and leave them

I mean, Foe implemented and tested proximity voice with me and learned that I'm deaf in my left ear. He then proceeded to continually step to the left side of my character every time he'd talk to me so that I had to rotate to have a conversation with him.
That actually enhanced the experience and made me like you more.
That's the power of proximity voice chat.

I have to deal with annoying people at work all day, I don't particularly look forward to dealing with annoying people during my downtime
