Also to understand the compiler better, but in more modern time I'd use godbolt for that in most cases

I was looking into seamless server transfer in 335 at one point.
Found multiple sources saying it's not possible, but it is very much possible with a simple binary edit.

Even without the edit you can still do it, but it'll not always transfer correctly as is, hence why the edit makes it stable

Another common approach for the same thing is to have a proxy, and those can and do work, but I prefer not to use a proxy.
