If this is your first time doing anything reverse related, I would probably try and get more comfortable by taking on some RE challenges (Crackmes etc)

It's mainly for WoW, I would like to break the limit of 10 characters on the realms among other things or to be able to add my own files / dbc

The limit is probably set in a UI file no ? (And server side check)

No it's a fixed sized array you need to remap to your own.
