they'd just pick no effect instead but it's not something they "adjust" a lot they just pick some setting for the whole zone or area

You can't with a straight face say the proprietary editor for a multi billion dollar company works X or Y way based on the limited showing you've seen from very limited examples

You can make a guess at best. I do think possibly tying ground effects of to certain textures could be one way to help automate them, but as to say what features it definitely has/don't have seems a bit absurd if your only source of information are blizzcon wow edit examples

Even in minor custom content there's _bunches_ of cases where it would be helpful. Mainly when working around adding cave entrances / new wmo's and wanting to fine tune ground effects. Yeah you can do sweeping changes with some tools but the top down sigmurs editor is _awful_ for actually visualising what chunk you're editing.

99% of cases can be covered in bulk fine and dandy but there's definitely cases where a more artist driven touch is needed.
