but from what I understand you don't want to draw them with a brush you want to bind them to a texture

Yeah, 99% of my work case is just binding it to a texture.

That's why I don't bother with Sigmur's and just use the ground effect generator cmd tool

texture layer references GEtexture.dbc that references a bunch of different models and density in a GEmodels.dbc

I'd scan the dbc file if an entry with those same settings exist or not, if not, create new one
