they left the alpha wow version of it which has different wmo structure so it never rendered correctly

Feel free to steal the refurbished crater map from my patch on wallcraft.org, I have the map done with all the caves and bases fixed. It's got the towers and bases balanced for actual bg usage too, with correct repositioning and has all the flourishes and ground textures to match. Even got the original horde gate that they never added (horde has the nelf gate normally but the real gate is in files)

i don't really intend to host a server myself. i mostly want to do documentation of how things are or rather used to be.
that's why i was doing all that effort for that stupid culling peoject, so i can properly showcase things without them freaking out when i go oob

There's a few assets that blizzard corrected themselves but left original broken ones on map, but some were unfinished and basically aren't touched by the community yet afaik
