Old post but I wanted to correct that:
I haven't "built" noggit qt, on the qt side schlumpf is the one that did most of the work to port noggit to qt and is much more knowledgable/experienced than me, I've just ported some of the UI.
And I know that Hanfer was helping on the old qt build but I don't remember what he did.
