oh, I just realized why deleting models bordering adts and adt reloading can cause issues... before when saving each map noggit was checking every models to see if it was in it, now I store the uids of the models present on the map and only save those

i remember when fooling around in the 0.5.3 client there were some unused leftover settings for it, letting me adjust things like reflectivity, wave details etc
