i compacted it since it was showing 7GB but not 7GB and it compacted to just under 3GB but when i opened it again it said it was corrupted

Mpqs are meant to be write once. You don't edit mpqs

I did figure out how to activate it at least! I think I'd have to do what you said to mess with it any further but I'm not too stressed. It's how I'm doing my "companion" characters and stuff!
