That way server only needs to send 1 message and everything is handled client side.

Couldn't you apply an aoe aura, can't the client respond to that

I would use AreaTrigger's for static locations. Client tells server when it enters the area, you reply to open the UI.

Then you can periodically check to see if the player has left the area. No need to be as precise as each movement. Just need to verify if still in the area trigger
