also diffing an entire tc db for me took about 6 seconds. so not sure compute time is really a worry here

if your approach between the two deviates, then you don't have any form of assurance that it will actually work properly

the data match is arguably what would break it, not the difference in a version tracking

but you could input data manually right, now you export a query and you assume that the query works properly. in many cases it probably will, but it's not a given, depending on db version, db engine, collation, etc

you're 100% at the mercy of the tool you are using to generate the queries, and you haven't tested those queries

I can guarantee you that the majority of people doing this don't ensure that they are using the exact same settings and versions between dev and live
