i never said it's good practice, im just saying that if you're going to have raw sql edits across a dev->prod, the best solution to choose for that is having a tool to export those changes to a format that is easily version controlled

sure, but that just goes back to *why* are you doing raw SQL changes on dev, dev is your precursor to prod (unless you want to set up test as well), you should do things to test that it actually applies properly to prod
