The only downside about BFA and later and possibly WoD-Legion is the physics conversions like Xalatath's cloak and belt or certain hair.

I don't exactly see it subtle what Blizzard does when they'll destroy parts of Stormwind in Cataclysm, then in the next, they'll rebuild the thing differently, including adding in a new park, and some statue, and even not just opening the door to old ironforge but actually revamping it with a statue of magni bronzebeard, these aren't subtle differences, and say you just dump anything from any client version without even checking out the data into your game, things might start to actually look and feel janky, and disjointed. I for example think the Cataclysm version of Darkmoon Island fits into WotLK better than later versions of it.
