What's simply wrong? There's no reason to make a cata DBC file load under one set of parameters would a wotlk file needs another set and so on and so forth, I believe Blizzard purposely keep changing a glorified CSV format they develop in-house so you guys have a hard time modding their assets.

It is binary data storage, yes, but it has a tabular structure that will fit into CSV.
