i think they have been improving it but im not sure if all dbcs are fixed yet

Your best bet is Lua or typescript, if you want to write a Ruby interpreter then it's possible, but speaking from experience, implementing a scripting engine is a lot of work

idk to me c++ for basic stuff doesnt seem that harder than other languages just more verbose....that is for stuff like creature scripts

I've found https://github.com/ruby-rice/rice that you can pass around c++ objects in ruby, so that the developer experience is greatly improved. So I don't need to write the emulator, just bridge c++ classes to ruby
