Hi, appreciate any help with this current problem, very new to this. I am attempting to create custom items for my server, but any item that I create displays in my bag as a red question mark. I am using a duplicated item template for demonstration of the issue. It does not allow me to equip the item from my bag via right click and I also cannot place it on my action bar, although the tooltips are displaying correctly when I hover over the item. When I click and drag the item to equip it, it will display on my character correctly and I can activate its on use ability.

I have created a new entry for the item as well in the item.dbc file as shown in the attached image. I have placed this dbc file into an mpq named "patch-4.mpq", also shown in an attached image. I then copied this mpq into the data folder of my client. After restarting the server and clearing the cache in my client, the issue still persists. What might I still be doing incorrectly?

Are you closing out of mpqeditor before opening wow? By closing out I mean, closing out of the patch.

I had not considered that, I will be more aware of that in the future. I also just reviewed my process and realized I was copying the unmodified dbc into the patch rather than my new one... big oof. It is resolved, thanks for the response!
