Hello, i am pretty new here, i have maybe an impossible idea, just for testing, learning, and experiment things, not for a real release, only for a hobby project. I already saw a project like this a few years ago, so, can i like remove all the maps from the game, and create my own map, place monsters spawn, add new weapons, spells etc, so basically create my own mmorpg from a base wow client. How can i start that, or is it even possible for a hobby project, or years of years of development?

It's possible, but yes it'll take years to have anything close to playable

Strange, but why? If i just create my own map, and set spawn points (idk how that works yet) then the game just works not?

There's no problem, it's just a lot more complex than you imagine, there's no "just"

Not really anything cohesive, no. Your best bet is to figure out what you want to do, one task at a time specifically, and then see if there's anything related to that available
