If someone is intent on exploiting this, all they really have to do is wrap warden and then they will be able to react to whatever checks you send

I've never understood signature files in MPQs, what do they even do ? since people are making/altering mpqs all the time without them, is it because emulators are missing some server verification ? and also didn't stop people from editing them back in the days

Well as the name suggests they're "signatures" they are usually hashes of content of files etc, and this will verify the integrity
