[Archive] [RELEASE] M2 Converter 4.x-6.x to WoTLK - 010 Editor Based
Quote: Hey guys, for anyone that remember the Tagteam M2 Converter I put out 2 years ago, this is an updated version to that. It's called Tag team because first it runs the m2 files on Mjollna's CataToLK tool then it TAGs my 010 Script in and it fixes the Particles.
In the current version, I have updated the 010 Script to also fix the Texture ID on WoD M2's that have particle emitters. All the M2 doodads used in my Tanaam Jungle Map Release were converted using this tool, you can check the map out over at: Modcraft - View topic - [RELEASE]*Tanaan Jungle From 6.2.0 PTR For 3.3.5a
Text Directions:
0.) You must have a working copy of 010 Editor and be able to launch the program through the cmd window by typing in 010Editor , if you are unable to do that, view my wmo converter guide on how to modify the batch file so it'll work for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9rD29gWI_I
1.) Download and extract the files to a folder somewhere, then run the BAT File, it will null out the BAT file but also make another file.
2.) Put the Cata/MoP/WoD M2 and SKIN files into the folder where you put the converter.
3.) Run the TagTeamConverter-PublicDistribution.bat , and let it finish.

Already have one and a guide, though it's a big long, but this is how long it takes just about anyone to downport a map and get only the assets called by the map and nothing more.
http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...bc-2015-a.html ([3 HOUR VIDEO TUTORIAL] Porting Cata-MoP Maps to WoTLK/TBC For 2015)
I'm going to be making another tutorial/toolset soon for WoD Installation specific ADT Porting to 3.3.5.
Addon to original reply:
I've put out the WoD Specific guide for porting ADTs from a WoD Installation to LK if you want to go that route instead, though do bear in mind that Hole Data changed after patch 5.2.0, so maps converted down from patch 5.3.0 and higher will not have any holes for caves and wmos that go underground. This is because it went from using a 32bit bitset to a 64bit bitset to make more detailed cuts for smaller cave entrances and things of that nature as well as being more versatile with world building.

This tool is specifically for 3.3.5a, and for those that use it, 4.0.3 to 4.0.6 will work as well. The Architecture of what the client will accept changed from patch 4.1.0 and higher. So this tool won't work for anything higher than 4.1.0.
Aside from that, Cata 4.1.0 to MoP 5.4.0 use the same M2 format. The 6.x.x format has some new particle information going on as well as some new texture animation flags that won't work properly in Cataclysm. but overall they all use the same format and should be interchangable except for 6.x M2 files that utilizes the newer 6.x.x particle information.
