Absolutely, but I want to be a bit lazy here and not necessarily do it the best way -- good enough is what I'm after here. If I were to do it in a reactive manner, I would need to spread the load throughout multiple update ticks to not introduce some spikes in some update where this event would trigger and for what I'm building I think adding complexity is not necessary.
