Out of interest, I shunted the HD patches up a letter, and left it at Z and it seems to work, I shall go allong with it and see if anything breaks, this is a dirty fix, but learning is interesting ^^

I reckon things like bear form wouldn't work as expected now client side

Is the HD Patch scrambled? Otherwise you could hook up spells in one of the hd patches and add in your custom stuff so it's kept together.
