You can copy the creature_template, make a new displayID for it and name, but you will need to adjust the new pet type in the core

You are going to have to do SQL, Core, and DBC at the bare minimum. You might be able to ignore the LUA work if you are doing it for a class that already is setup for pets

If you want to do something easy just make a pet similar to raise ghoul that doesn't have a pet bar and will just despawn after a few min
