oh most importantly in setup imo is clearing the default scene and saving it as startup file so it exports correctly without having to resort to loading from 1 project or removing meshes n stuff from the startup cube

yeah, you would encounter files not visible in view layer interrupting the export if they arent removed in "blender file" view
everjunior has a nice .obj -> .m2 tutorial I followed
