repacks usually just get a bad rep because many people who distribute them breach the cores licenses, but not all of them do. there's also a sentiment that everyone _should_ learn to compile their own core, but that isn't always necessary in my opinion. most of tswow users go with our repack and migrate to source builds if they actually need them

source is the way if you need to modify the source or you don't want to trust whatever third-party distributor is giving you the repack
