Maybe a stupid question, but how **exactly** do the references work in loot_template tables? I get the basic idea behind it, but TC documentation isn't clear in regards of what exactly is referenced. If I use "reference" field in gameobject_loot_template, is it referencing a different row in gameobject_loot_template or is it referencing a reference_loot_table ?

Anything using reference field is using reference_loot_table iirc

Doesn't matter if it's gobject_loot or creature_loot or whatever

Yeah, that's what I would think, but what confuses me is a warning about selfreferencing. It says you should NOT do this:
INSERT INTO `reference_loot_template` (`Entry`, `Item`, `Reference`) VALUES (21215, 0, 21215);
because it would overflow and crash. But how can THAT be the case, if the referen.... oh.
Now I realised the "not to do" example SQL is specific for reference_loot_template, right, now it makes all sense
