Just a follow up question, if I want these items to 'work' ingame (equipable with right click, won't turn into question marks when dragged etc) I basically just open the .mpq editor, drag all the relevant files (all files related to items in this case) in there, create the patch and drop it into the data folder?

I'll give it a spin and see what happens first

The data in item.dbc is a subset of the data in item_template

You want to correctly produce a new item.dbc that contains the up to date subset from your database.
Once generated you can place this in a MPQ file in the appropriate location (I'm assuming you know how this works)

This will allow your client to understand the item correctly

I believe there are tools and what not to generate the new item DBC from csv format that can be exported by heidie. Maybe your editor can do it directly from within it

It's been a while since I had to create a patch manually but it's starting to look familiar, I'll have it figured out after I'm done cooking. Again thanks a lot for your help, I would have been stumped for so long if you didn't teach me how the statscount field works
