Thanks but I figured out much cleaner way of doing it without needing core or skill. Since I don't really need "skill" just a condition for equiping / using items, I realised (after tinkering with stuff for quite a while) I can just create passive spells and use "requiredspell" column it item_template to do the job.
I really should double check every relevant piece of the puzzle more

Minus the horrific face, I've managed to amalgamate the textures together - yet the skin doesn't wanna show the bodyarmor or helms. I'd assume I'm missing something important.
