TS-WoW is far from perfect though. The main hurdles we hit are around external tools depending on ids.
WMOAreaGroups / AreaTable entries in particular since they get baked into an ADT / WMO. I’ve given in on making that work we hard code ids for those 2 specific things.

I’m sure this is an overwhelming chat <@728664401829167186> so the tl;dr is odds are you won’t hit any major walls with any of the paths. If your aim is to basically completely gut blizzlike go TC / TSWoW. If you’re sticking with a more blizzlike base then AC.

Ac isn't worse for custom than TC though, it's just what TC is the best at.

ACs objective biggest advantage is that blizzlike content is regularly getting updated. If you don’t care about that then tbh a “stale” core is better.

Unless you're completely and entirely redoing everything like hour of twilight AC will always be a better base, and it even has better working game systems like creature aggro and behavior
