TS-WoW uses TrinityCore under the hood for the server with a bunch of extra features and hooks.
You basically mod the client via TypeScript. Weird mix of very noob friendly but also need to know some basic modding. Advantage of it basically all being typescript based is it’s very easy to copy paste logic and build things rapidly.
TrinityCore itself is barely updated these days, for some that’s bad, I lean on the side of it’s easier to mod when the rug isn’t regularly pulled out from under you.
AzerothCore is a fork of an older version of TrinityCore that got updated by the Sunwell team. It has more base blizzlike content scripted objectively and gets more regular updates.
However, AC has an absolutely retarded license that they can’t undo and is actively making emulation worse due to it and gave absolutely zero thought for custom projects.
If you don’t care about licenses and health of modding then AC is great.
