using the object visibility to create unique worlds does seem overkill, I've only used it to compliment the world where a certain event/encounter should be uniquely phased, and it spawns and cleans up the event

That's my main interest. Phased quests or events, or progressive world states in very small areas

Then it's totally fine to use, just not something as Ascension / Retail did with Warmode phases should be done with it.

Warmode is also separate servers on live, so not exactly just a phase change

I also let unique phases continue to see phase 1, which produces some strange interactions. i.e: should a player in phase 1 see your unique phase? Creatures will need to see your unique phase in order to be able to interact with them. Need to think through how you want it to work
