That would make sense. What about just swapping existing animations? The model has 1H Attack, but no unarmed. Can I add unarmed, or just swap the 1H attack to being unarmed?

If you understand how animation data is stored then it is not really doable manually. Each bone(simplifying, it can be more than just bones) has animation data for each animation and that data length is dynamic and has several offsets(meaning stored at different locations), you can't just copy paste it' (well you can but that's gonna be thousands of copy pastes and adjusting offsets.)

So short answer humanly near impossible so write a script/program, and even then making such a program is not easy at all you need to know the format pretty well and have experience

Ah okay, I thought I had heard of people just basically copying the animations or swapping them in 010 but I guess I must've been misunderstanding that

Oh well nvm maybe you could just swap the animation IDs in the definitions and adjust the lookup table if you wanna simply swap 2 existing anims in the same model

but that counts on fact that animation data are already in model

Yeah that would make sense for sure, that's what I was assuming would be the case needed for it, not adding new animations directly into it
