the area ids used in adts reference entries in `AreaTable.dbc`, so you need corresponding entries in that table for them to show up correctly.
however, be aware that the _explorable mask_ on wotlk is **much** smaller than the shadowlands ones, so you may need to move some things around to make it work

so i need to edit the adts themselves to locate the IDs and change it to the new ones.

it depends on what you're doing. if you're only backporting existing maps then yeah, those exist in dbc already and you just need to edit the adts
