I'm attempting to implement a HD texture pack (I believe it's leeviathan's, some unofficial mirror) to be used with the 1.12 Vanilla+ server. They've added some custom NPCs to the mix, and lo and behold, their faces were warped because the baked textures they use don't align with the new models. I figured it was as simple as finding an original unit's bake with (almost) the same skin and hair, then copy-paste the "new" style bake's face over the "old" style bake's face in GIMP. This worked out alright, especially since all of them are wearing helmets. However, from a distance I now get a shadow on the NPC's gear, which fades into the correct color as I appear them. Model editing is all new to me, so I'm not really sure where to begin to understand what's going on. Any pointers to where I can go from here? Or a better method than the one I'm attempting?

Hmm, can this be used to later turn the image sequence into an animated 3d model for WoW kind of like this :

(Trying to figure out how to handle VFX for proximity voice chat)https://d1yt8qkhp8oydd.cloudfront.net/ti...1db15b0edc
