So my frame has "center" defined in UIParent, which makes it so the frame will appear in the center of the screen. Doing this, closes all other frames and makes it so it is the only frame that is opened. This is a problem because I now learned that I need to have the gossip frame open at the same time.

I was wondering if you happened to know an easy fix to make it so I can keep the gossip frame open while having the custom frame open.

I am not sure why your frame would cause other frames to close

Do you know when you have a UIFrame (eg, spell book and character frame). When you open to many UI frames at once, others will start closing, It's kind of like that. My custom frame takes up most of the screen, so other frames that are open automatically close as the UI is making room for my custom frame.
