It's low risk low reward vs high risk high reward basically.
Imagine being one of the original developers at Blizzard instead of the ones working there today for a salary.

I'd only give someone a % of profits if it was someone investing or taking a huge role.
Royalties, I agree that I'd rather just purchase the thing from someone, but if they're that confident in their content and it's what they want then something can be worked out ♂️
