my wow client needs to extract the files? When I set up the server, I loaded my mpq files onto my linux server as normal and was able to extract all vmaps and maps without any problems, but now it doesn't work with the custom patch?

For maps, vmaps, and mmaps it typically needs the full client. A subset of the files may work under some scenarios but it may miss data and this is not how the tools are designed to be used. We cannot provide help with cryptic error messages if you haven't tried to do it the standard way that is supported.

You are making a lot of assumptions about how things work.

If the standard way is working and you want to try with a subset of the files, sure, but then we know it's a problem with your setup rather than the extractors.

Otherwise we are left trying to guess what you have done wrong because you didn't follow the instructions

I now load all mpq files on my server and then I run the mapxtractor, which will then generate everything as at the beginning and then see if it also includes the custom patch
