I'm trying to reread your answer for the fourth time, but I'm not sure if I was able to understand it correctly. The answer looks to me both clear and incomprehensible. Perhaps if you show which line in the Spell editor each of them belongs to, it will become a little clearer to me.
Let me show it in a way that newbies like me can understand:
I'm still not sure what effect classmask is, but I guess, its 123-131 strings in spell.dbc (123-125 for effect 1 for my spell). It has a hex value, which I have no clue how to translate to a human language of a common numbers.
So, 123-125 strings is spell.dbc is something similar to this tab in spell editor

it's a little complicated and is not helped by that wowdev.wiki displays it wrong and incorrectly labels effect classmasks as a[3], b[3] and c[3]

i don't use spell editor so i don't know how those are displayed, nor if it displays them correctly

Yep, you're right, my bad, it's been a bit since I set a faction on NPCs, it wants the Faction_Template ID and not the faction faction ID. Glad you got it working!

I use MyDBCEditor program to open spell.dbc file, and then just move to the proper one spell line
