It's looking really nice. I think it'd look a bit better if the particle part was more even. It's a bit too thick on most of the blade but then gets too narrow near the end, in my opinion. I'm not sure how hard that'd be to change though. If that's not feasible, the thing that bugs me most on it is the ending where the red stops covering it so the color gets a bit weird. If the particle effect's shape itself can't be modified easily, maybe making it a bit longer would help with that?

The particle itself i can choose a texture for, this is with flare.blp
That being said, i have a lot of control over the particles, emission rate, particle speed, lifespan etc.
It seems im a bit limited in terms of how wow works with particles. On one hand its easier to make emitters like these that travel across the blade, on the other hand, i could make like 7 emitters along the blade that dont move, the "inconsistency" youre seeing is that i have 2 emitters, one at the hilt and another in the center of the blade

Ooooh with that thought though, i *could* put the other emitter directly on the tip of the blade and make the particles move in the opposite direction

That way the two emitters can just meet in the middle and dissapate before the reach the opposing emitter
