From what i am reading BoneWeight in WoW can be any value, rather than 0-1, it can also be negative values. Is there a better resource anywhere to get more info about boneweight in WoW?

IF there is a problem with these weights as i may suspect, it shouldnt hurt anything to simply reset all bone weights to -1 right?

Comparing to other models i see a few common "setups"

-1,0,0,0 (empty)
85,85,85,0 (UUU.)???
127,127,0,0 (shows as empty)
63,63,63,63 (Not sure about this one either)

Hmmm this is for sure the issue i have some vertices here being affected by bones 2/3/47/75
2/3 are waist/upperbody bones
47 is the left shoulder
75 is a small bone protruding from the back, its simply a spike
These 4 bones get equal influence on the vertex, this cant be right
Ive noticed when i try to have another geoset render the rest of the model it grabs other pieces like the shoulder and warps them out of wack
Is it possible for a model to show a correct render in WMV if this is the case? Surely if the .m2 vertices were this bad the model wouldnt render there either

I remember that I had the same result a year ago with the orc upright. In the game the model crashed after a short time and in wmv it was seen fine.

In my case the model in question was the result of a backport with animation porting
