I guess the blizzard way would be: debuff has SPELL_AURA_PROC_TRIGGER_SPELL with proc flags for cast and triggered spell has effect on it that modifies the duration

Yeah, I currently have a setup similar to detect the proc with a spell, but the proc script isn't running which I assume is because it needs to have flags, it can't be generic.
