Instead of sending multiple packets and syncing the data in the UI or doing client edits, send data to him through CMH and have it remove excess non-hardcoded data from the query.

In your case with tooltips, you'd just hook tooltip loading, send a query to the server, retrieve data and inject into the tooltip. It would probably be relatively slow though

Without rewriting the whole Auction House UI I don't see how to make it's item template based item loading work with custom data easily

You'd be better off querying the server for guid and name pairs on login, then use that as a lookup table on tooltip generation

I already have the guid for normal tooltips but other things like AH work off of item templates plus other data.
