if one can stuff the world db with npcs/quests/fuckery into sqlite, it should improve the performance of the server

Why wouldn’t you? You can export the whole thing as a list of insert statements

It wasn't terribly easy, I had to massage some of the table structure definitions, because the ones made for MySQL came with a lot of junk that SQLite doesn't care for.
