plus in my tests with sqlite for game use (singleplayer tho) its super super fast

yeh thats really the more problematic point. Sqlite is more about local-use db than remote-use

it's not impossible by any means, but a lot of the database subproject is very hard written for mysql and it'd be a considerable challenge to rewrite all that while making sure you're not introducing regressions
