you can then query stuff by doing a `select from quest_flags where characterID = player1 and flag = DEAD_WIFE_FOUND`

this is also a very "cold" DB table. It would only really get checked when the player initiates contact with an NPC or similar, so even with a thousand connected players you would get a few a second at most
