wbs can only work with 3.3.5 m2s, but i believe m2mod has branches for newer versions (though i have no idea how well-supported they are)

M2mod does have an updated version that works for shadowlands, you need to use it with the 2.9 blender scripts (only works with blender 2.90 and not 2.91+ from my experience)

I’ve never had any trouble with it, the only thing it doesn’t seem to be able to do that older versions could is add new bones
