There's an entire patching protocol that determines what updates are available and how to obtain them, verify them, and install them

The point I'm trying to make is that since there's a way to match build id with updates to download there's no issue there, yes you'd have to make some changes but it's clearly not the hardest thing in the world, and as I said I wasn't even planning on using it.
