also, are player voices just a matter of pulling them from wow.export or CASC and putting them in the proper place in an MPQ ? or is there more to sound/voice files then that ?

well, if a listfile is a list of all the files, you can make a giant listfile and open any MPQ ... but if you put your MPQ in an MPQ then no list will open it because whatever you named it, wont be listed.
